Grafton County Jail - North Haverhill, NH
JFPCS provided commissioning services on this 95,000 SF project. The Grafton County Jail is a highly complex facility heated and cooled with a ground source heat pump system utilizing water to water heat pumps. The detention area serves several hundred inmates. The kitchen facility rivals that of a university dining hall with an energy efficient kitchen exhaust system, refrigeration system and water heating system. Heating and cooling air systems are coupled to the ground source heat pump loop through water to water heat pumps. All heat is rejected to the ground source loop. Supplemental heating of the heat pump loop is provided by efficient gas-fired boilers. Heat recovery ventilation systems serve the detention areas and also serve the smoke evacuation systems. JFPCS performed full service commissioning, writing the functional tests and performing the field testing for the mechanical, life safety, service hot water and lighting systems. This project complies with many of the LEED criteria for energy efficient design and function.
