Tobey Building Renovation - Concord, NH
The Tobey Building is located west of the Concord, NH downtown area, in an old industrial complex that is home to several state departments. Lavallee Brensinger Architects designed and upgraded the facility by gutting the interior and creating a high performance shell. All new windows were installed and a completely new heating, ventilation, and cooling plant was installed. JFPCS was hired to commission the mechanical systems and lighting controls.
The century old structure provided many challenges because of the close floor-to-floor dimensions. A chilled beam system with heat recovery ventilation was the system of choice. An ice bank off-peak chilled water system was also installed to take advantage of off-peak electrical rates. The building is in the lowest percentile.
